— ‘’TURKEY, A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITIES IN PROGRESS’’
— Turkish brand at the biggest construction equipment exhibition of the world
Turkish wind shall blow at INTERMAT 2009 Exhibition which is the biggest organization of construction equipment sector of the world. Turkish construction equipment sector shall be introduced to the world within the framework of activities organized under the name of ‘Turkish Day’ at the exhibition which is organized once in three years in Paris, the capital city of France, and which is visited by 209 thousand people last year. This organization, by which 20 firms from Turkey shall have the leading role, is made by Construction Equipment Distributors and Manufacturers Association TURKEY (IMDER). Rızanur MERAL, General Secretary of IMDER, who said that the organization at the first day of the exhibition is a unique opportunity for introduction of Turkey and Turkish Machine Industry, further stated the followings: “We are planning to make the best use of this opportunity for our country and Machine Industry Sector. As it is known, the year 2009 is announced as Turkish Year in France. Within this framework, there shall be a Turkish Day reception and conference at the organization of IMDER by the competent authorities of INTERMAT Exhibition on Monday April 20, 2009 at 15.00-17.00 hours. Within the scope of Turkish Day, other meetings and activities shall continue during April 20-22, 2009.
INTERMAT 2009, which is one of the biggest exhibitions of the world in construction equipments sector in 2009 and supported by IMDER from Turkey, shall take place in April 20–25. It is expected that over 2.000 Turkish visitors shall visit the exhibition to which 20 Turkish firms shall be participating. Briefly, INTERMAT exhibition, which is organized once in 3 years, can be introduced as in the followings: previous exhibition is organized on an area of 180.000 m2 and 1320 firms from 43 countries participated. 64% of the participants were composed of foreign firms. Visitor profile is as follows: 209.032 people visited the exhibition and 45% of the visitors were international visitors. Also, 79.684 firms from 127 countries visited the exhibition.
Rızanur MERAL, The President of IMDER, stated that the Organisation is unique opportunity as economical structure, investment opportunities, size of foreign trade, state of machine and construction equipment sector of Turkey shall be introduced in this giant organization where distinguished guests will participate.
He also stated that exhibition management positively reacted towards demands of IMDER; quality and growth trend of Turkish construction equipment sector is highly attention grabbing and participation of firms to exhibitions abroad positively affects this decision. Meral , who said that they are aiming to attract foreign investors by introducing investment and cooperation opportunities in Turkey through a special booth area, stated the followings: “Foreign investors shall be marked closely by opportunities such as cocktail, conference and promotion. Potentials of Turkey and our sector shall be described. It is necessary to find and establish new markets and collaborations in order to recover impacts of global crisis. By this activity, we may gain significant benefits on behalf of our sector and our country. These efforts are especially important for promoting Turkey.
